Sorry DeeBee.
I can understand if a creditor doesnt want to approve for too many recent inquiries or aquisitions as its obvious they want you to use their card and with multiple new ones, they arent gaurenteed that. BUT, i find it totally nonsense to approve you and close you down before you even get the card. Thats wrong. I know they maybe different departments but they should due the homework on who they give credit too, thats why we have credit reports, or should anyway. Lol odd _dogReapply?? Yeah, to my shreddar
and Joe she said it with a serious tone....LMAO!!!
Hey odd_dog! Do you have any new accounts other than your Comenity app? If yes, how many?
Beautiful, now you are getting into dangerous territory! LOL I have/had (this incident happened around Sept 2016) at least 20 on my TU, about 5 each on EX and EQ - and not ashamed of it...LOL BUT that was all on my report when they pulled it, so gotta wonder WHY approve? And no inquires in the 11 days it took them to close it.....
Lol odd_dog! You shouldn't be ashamed of it. I do think it's important to recognize/understand why things happen. At least to the best of our abilities. We will never know for sure but we can make educated guesses.
I think I remember someone saying that the new application, like Humu stated, triggered something in the system and certain accounts were flagged and sent to UW for further review. Remember this all happened last year so I can't recall everything with 100% accuracy. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Also ( at least according to the way it happened to many people in 2016), it's based on number of EQ and EX inquiries overall and not just about new accounts. It's an inquiry based thing.
Well, now it makes even less sense, lol. They only pulled EQ for me, and they're one of THREE inquiries I've had in almost a year.
Besides that, none of my new Chase/Amex/DCU/WF accounts have shown up on my reports yet, so Comenity doesn't even know I have them yet.
write the credit bureau and tell them what happened and that you want the HP and account removed. I have had 50/50 results but sometimes it works.
From skimming this thread it appears they're only doing this to NEW accounts, is that correct? I've had a Comenity/Pottery Barn account for twelve years, it survived the worse of my credit troubles. Since my rebuild (18 months) I've opened around a dozen new accounts none ithe last four months). Are they going to "suddenly" notice that and cut me off? That's my only Comenity.
What a strange behavior, to grant a card, allow a purchase and then immediately revoke it.

Even if they only pulled EQ for you, they can and definitely do soft EX also. And there were myfico members who were shut down in 2016 with just 2 or 3 inquiries. None of us know what their trigger number is, but according to the Comenity employee who shared the info with us, inquiries on both EX and EQ are what Comenity is looking at in their audit.
I'll check my EX as soon as I can for SP's. Currently ineligble to view it, but should be in the next couple of weeks. I have had 7 HP's on my EX in the last three months, because EVERYONE pulls EX in the state of NV.
Sorry this happened to you. Comenty is garbage.
I hope you will also let WIlliams Sonoma know about your experience. These companies need to know that their names are being dragged through the mud being associated with these jokers.
