Companies that typically use SP's for CLI

As far as I know, the only company (well, the only one I have a card with) that regularly allows soft-pull CLIs (if one is available) is Cap1.

Are there other companies out there that will perform a SP to an online CLI request? I'm waiting for previous inquiries to fall off, but it never hurts to have more credit available, and this is a no-pain boost to utilization scores in most cases.

From what I can tell and have heard, all "love buttons" for Citi cards (including Home Depot and Macy's) are hard pulls.

Amex does soft pulls.

BOFA and Chase both want to do an HP everytime I ask for a CLI.

Citi is not always an HP. It just depends on the verbiage at the time. Right now, my CLI for the DC is SP while Costco still has HP language.

I've noticed it change from time to time, but was never really sure how much I could trust that. Is there a guide? Or a canonical way to tell if it's going to be soft or not?

If it's soft, it will specifically say that no report will be requested. If it says a report may be requested, then count on it! LOL

If it says soft pull, it will be a soft pull.

Hmm... How about not? My Macy's Store card, Macy's Amex, and HD cards are all showing this language:
Completing your online credit limit increase request is easy and takes only minutes. In some cases, we can provide a decision right away.
... but I'm virtually certain it USED to say "We may need to request your credit report." or words to that effect before.

They did last time I requested CLI, unfortuantely they counter-offered too small of an increase to bother with.
