I'm so confused as to what this email means, what they are telling me, and what I need to do, if anything. I have no idea what a "Promotional Balance" is! (And I don't understand how Oct 1 is 15 days away when today is Sep 1).
Do you guys understand? Thanks in advance.

0% APR ending?
Although my DW has this card I don't know much about it but this sounds similar to the way CareCredit promotional purchases work where they have automatic 0% or optional set interest tiers/terms which are determined by the amount of purchase. Sounds like you have a purchase that got automatically put on a 0% promotional purchase and it's getting ready to expire. (sorry if you know this already) With CareCredit if you're on a 0% (for whatever term) promotional purchase and fail to pay that balance off within that time frame, they charge you interest on the original purchase amount instead of the remaining balance. I'd check that out and see what their terms and stipulations are if you haven't already. I have no idea what calander they're using, lol.... Let us know what you find out.

It just means that a promotional interest rate on part of your balance is expiring. Since you don't carry balances or pay interest, it's of no consequence to you. If you were carrying a balance it would mean something, because it would mean that that amount of the balance is going to be subjected to one of their wild and crazy interest rates.
Pay card off in full or at least the amount showed on the email by the date shown to avoid interest being added.
If this is a confusing email have you checked if it's actually from citi. I am receiving all kinds of fishing emails that claim to be from my bsnk that request me to login on the email. But in hotmail when I click on the email link it has an address nowhere resembling that actual bank so it's a means to get your login id
The link goes to:
fake or real? I can't tell.
Somehow you ended up in a alternate universe where you in this universe do have a promotional balance due... and possibly time traveling into the future considering, today is the 2nd of September and 15 days would put us on the 15th of September!!!🤯🤯
Thanks all, I suppose what many of you have suggested - that a 0% promo is running out - is probably correct. I have my auto pay in full every month set to On but, yeah, I was originally offered a 0% for 1 year offer (didn't use, always PIF'ed) and I did get the card around Aug/Sep of '22 so I guess that makes sense. The $471.17 stated in the e-mail was my balance at the time the e-mail from citi was received. Payment was not due until October 1 but I got spooked and paid it early Sep, after receiving the e-mail. Oh well.
Again, thanks to everyone who replied, much appreciated.
P.S. Still not sure what a "Promotional Balance" is, lol!

@ptatoheddo you have an active 1 month promo on your Sears card that runs from August 15th through September 14th?
