I went onto AMEX in a private tab and got the platinum 100,000 offer with the message consider the bar raised! Now the real question is do I take it? I assume since I have the Amex Gold it would be a SP so even if I was denied I would not take a toll. My current credit score on Experian is 743, 740 on TU and 737 on EQ. As of right now I'm just staying on the website. I'll just leave it open.
I could also take a card like the Blue everyday and have 15 months of no interest or I could take an AMEX Gold and get $60,000 rewards points hmm decisions decisions.
Depends on how you'll use the MRs. At worst it's worth $630. After the AF, you get $80 in your pocket, after you've spent $5550.

If that is not a typo I would take the Gold.

Right now, these offers you're seeing for increased SUB's are real...but you mentioned they would be SP because you already have the Gold and while you're seeing another offer for GOLD and PLAT, I would add these are new HP applications....hence the "Apply Now" link. These would not be SP applications. These offers for increased SUB's are just that...increased SUB offers...not pre-approved extensions of credit or pre-approval for charge cards. Good luck if you proceed

Huh? Did something change, or did I misunderstand this? Incognito offers are (were?) SP for AMEX. It takes you to your sign-in page, but the application contract you'll get is the increased sub. I did this last year.

If you already have the Gold card, you certainly are not going to get the 60,000 MR SUB for another Gold card. You can get the second Gold card, just not the SUB.
For the 100k Platinum offer, with your scores the HP is the least of your concerns. Spending the $550 AF and meeting the spend requirement, and seeing for yourself that the card benefits you, that's what matters.
You have to do some math and see if it makes sense.
Amex cards are now in the midst of benefit change, math is different than before.

Lucky you. Had the same offer for platinum but it went back down to 75k. For gold I got the same offer but for both cards for me to get the points I would have to spend the required amount within 3 months, assuming I would get approved. Its not a problem to spend that amount (on top of the AF) and pay it off but i would prefer having it expended to atleast 6 months to give me breathing room and so I dont get flagged.
