Convert to Visa Signature?

Does anyone know if its possible to request a conversion from Visa to Visa Signature? or do I have to wait for Chase to offer me the upgrade?

I have a Chase Freedom ($5k limit) that I want to convert to Signature for the added benefits and to have a signature card in my wallet.

Thanks

Call the backdoor number to speak with a credit analyst about doing so. They have more power than the regular CSR.

Re: Convert to Visa Signature?

Should be no problem but the account has to be at least 13 months old. I called in about the same thing. CL above $5000 is the only requirement in addition to length of account.

Why do you want Signature?  What added benefits would actually be useful to you?

How much do you charge on this card monthly? Do you PIF? If no, what is current balance?

What other credit lines do you have and current balances?

This. You can put the request in yourself after 1 year.

Re: Convert to Visa Signature?

I don't really want to dig up an old thread, but since this is exactly what I'm trying to do, I'm going to try anyway.  I called the backdoor number for the credit analysts and she ahd to transfer me over to the CSRs again.  I was told that the conversion to a Visa Signature is not available to me at this time.  After speaking to a senior CSR I was told that it might become available at some point, but not now.  My CL is $8,500 and the account has been open since 2004.  Any ideas why I can't convert?

"after one year"...specifically, can you make the conversion after 12 mos or 13 mos?

Re: Convert to Visa Signature?

Can I ask again why you would want Signature Card? Especially if with a bank that does not report Limit...

Travel insurance is about the only thing I can think of on Signature that would be worth it for family maybe if you died (sorry) but for yourself not really anything special.

don't see why you wouldn't be able to move from regular to signature if you wanted either unelsss it's an AF thing and you have had the card under 12 months...

Re: Convert to Visa Signature?

I would like a signature card in order to take advantage of some of the entertainment deals - free movie tickets and such.  But if they don't report the limit, it might not be worth it.

Now it just bothers me that they won't let me move...

Free Movie Tickets?

I have had many Signature Cards and I have never received anything special that I could not have got with "A" First Premier Card if the limit would be large enough!

Maybe I have not looked in a long time but... I dunno.
