Re: DC Power VISA

With TU being my strongest score, and everyone always wants to hit my EQ or EX, I applied, only for the coolness aspect, not because the rewards are so awesome...they're just ..meh.   Ive never had UMB ever, so never burned them, and  My TU 08 is 720, and 09 is 760, so not sure which version they'll use.  Wasnt isnt approval or denial, just a generic message.  I do have crazy INQ on TU though LOL, and they are ultra  conservative Plus they MR every app, LOL. ....

Depending on how the contract is written with DC, they will have to approve a certain  number of people, but, also, the folks from here and DOC aren't your normal credit folks either, lol...Im expecting a denial just due to new accounts an INQ,  and possibly my BK as well,  but had to try Smiley Wink

Re: DC Power VISA

Good luck @pizza1! They could get backed up quickly and I'm not sure what their definition of "too many inquiries" could be, but I guess if you have to ask you already know the answer lol

Excluding this app I have 3 in 6mo and 8 in 12mo. Above that I have the new accounts to match (3 in 6mo and 8 in 12mo) so that may freak them out lol I still have 4 other newbies that haven't reported yet so figured no time like the present. Worst case is they say No, I simmer down for a bit and circle back next summer

This one's on my hit-list Smiley Very Happy

Interesting fact UMB use to underwrite the Hello Kitty credit card as well that apparently isnt around anymore?  Hello Kitty had/has a big following as well.

Re: DC Power VISA

I see there is some nice interest in this card as a vanity pick up so I don't feel so bad now lol. Smiley Very Happy

Sucks that they are all manual review so far. I will be curious to see how these apps shake out. I do hope it's not the usual ultra conservative UMB here -- the way the card's APRs are set seems to suggest looser UW.

I'm no stranger to vanity pickups so NO judgements from me! Smiley Tongue It's still early but looks like a solid benchmark would be if @Mahraja, @FinStar or @12njoy applied and got the pending message, we could confidently say UMB isn't doling out any instant approvals.

Re: DC Power VISA

This would be my first vanity pick up and I want it bad but I'm committed to my gardening until February goal. Maybe I can make this card my reward card for successfully gardening for the first time. My BK will be off TU in February (due to EE) which bodes well.

It just came out, it's not like it's going anywhere. Your Discover covers 3% on everything for a year anyway which means it's equal or better than this card. There's no harm in waiting until February. I know that doesn't help when you want it, just trying to help you stay strong, lol.
