I honestly believe her/him from this post and you if you have done any research this isn't uncommon for Chase to do... Yes there are two sides to every story, but by no means was this person over extended w/regards to credit.
As stated many times diversify and never have all your eggs in one basket.. If a credit crunch comes again or when it comes again, people that have all their eggs with chase or any bank for that matter will not be so happy then as they will be in the same boat. Just my 2 cents..
I think Chase does not like it when they see you get credit from other lenders, My DW had her freedom closed by chase last month,She has only 4 credit cards, but when she got a new card from NFCU,Than they shut her freedom card down,Now mind you,My DW has maybe 5 Inq in the past year,The letter Chase sent said: too many Inq,too many new request for credit.

If this is the case there are going to be a ALOT of people on the forum that are about to have an "oh Shiz" moment coming..
It was recently in the news that banks are into high risk credit card customers to gain a better profit. They are getting back into the type of lending that created the financial crisis which is why they had Congress change the law so that tax payers will have to bail them out again if they take too much of a gamble and fail.

I agree the tax payers will once again bail out the big banks.... When is the only question? Although that really has nothing to do with why the OP got did over like she/he did.. Other then the comments about the credit crisis and people putting all or most or there poker chips with one lender.

Being aware and diversifying I understand but honestly I read the title and literally rolled my eyes for two reasons.
1.) I figured the OP would claim this happened for no reason and had not received an actual answer from Chase before posting - correct
2.) I knew it would be about 5+ pages later before the actual REASON was revealed bc there is always a reason - correct
Im sorry this happened and there are a couple good responses here however the title is in fact the first thing people read when viewing this so I would never attempt to advise others of NOT applying for a lender based on my own personal experience. Thats not my call to make. If this thread isnt intended to convince people not to apply with Chase then modify the title. A lender could decide to close your accounts pretty much whenever they want and for whatever reason. We're all at risk of this. There are other options out there. Im not particularly fond of Capital One but I would never discourage anyone else from applying with them I've simply accepted that Id rather not do business with them. Simple
On 2) What do you take as the real reason?
On 1) Do you think the OP (or anyone who uses similar titles) REALLY expects that others will obey and stop all and any Chase applications? I just view this, and similar stuff, as "I am VERY annoyed at this issuer", but I suspect many (not all) of those complaining wouldn't have read that either because they "love Chase".

Im not high risk,Thats why Chase closed my credit cards,Im a pay in full person,15.99% intrest is a littlie to high for me to pay,Im way too old to have debt lol
I don't see anywhere that he was given a valid reason for the closures.
Is this thread really still a thing?
