So I said I would post this data point back when I got the card.
I asked "if you never use the card would it still double your line after 7 Statements?". Most people assumed you would have to use the card each month to get the line doubled. I couldn't find that requirement in the terms so I figured I would test it myself.
I used the card for one purchase only, then paid in full 5 days later back in December 2015
Well the results are in, my line has doubled to $1,100.
Now we know you only have to use your card one time to get your line doubled after 7 months.
Cool! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah the secured version is pretty bad, I'm not even sure they ever unsecure. I was fortunate enough to be offered the unsecured version.
Personally I think secured credit cards are really only for rebuilding and not for first time credit users, but Dicover is the best if you have a few mistakes but want to rebuild, and if you have a lot of mistakes then capital one, I also have BofA secured card, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
That's good to know. I have a $700 limit now, set to double in October. I have used it a few times but won't have "7 monthly payments" by October. I will happily accept the $1,400 limit
