The sky priority boarding and checked bag service was bomb on my recent NYC trip too!

Do you have to book the trip with the Delta AMEX to get these privileges?

Nope, it's attached to your skymiles number.  You will be able to board on Zone 1 with the Silver Medallions.

I didn't see much difference between the gold and the platinum apart from the phrase 'reaching medallion status faster'

The Platinum gets a yearly companion pass which lets you buy one ticket and get a second companion ticket for only the cost of the taxes.

for example I flew to NC last week with my wife, I purchased my ticket for $580 and paid 40$ for my wifes ticket.

now for the fine print you only get the companion pass after you pay your first AF, so you're probably better off getting the gold for the 1st year free... then upgrading to the platinum when your AF is due and getting the companion pass.  Also the Companion pass is only good for flights booked in economy, the Reserve Card companion pass is good for both economy and First/Business

Do you fly Delta enough to have status currently, if so the bonus 5k MQMs on sign up might help you.... if you aren't a Frequest Flyer it won't though and you're 150$ for the first year will just go to waste.

Great info. I usually fly Delta or United and rarely AA. Altough lately, I have taken some Jet Blue flights to Orlando from New Hampshire since they had some terrific prices.

On the companion flights, is there a limitation on how many i can buy in a year or is there just a one time deal per year?  I do take frequent flights about 12-15 times a year

Also is the companion ticket valid for international flights?

You get one companion pass per year and it is only good for domestic!

If they would give out a free international every year this might be the best credit card available!

Very tempting this email offer. That's after spending $750 in 3 months. I'm resisting the urge since I already have 2 AMEX charge and 1 revolver

I took that same offer back in June. Are you a current Delta SkyMiles member?

YEs i'm a skymiles member

You may be able to cash in on this bonus as well:

I was able to get even more than the 35K with this offer. I just became a member when I got my AmEx...not sure if it applies to established members

I finally found it! I just got approved and tried to use the above link to get the bonus for being new. No-go, that link is from 2011. I found out after 2 hours with delta customer care BUT after searching for a while I found the new link!!!!! Sign up below!
