Re: Determined to get a solid CapitalOne upgrade!

I am just glad to finally have one of the capitalone prime credit cards. After 6-12 months of gardening my new QS Visa, I plan on closing out 1-2 of my capitalone platinum MC's.

Grats on the QS.  They let me PC from regular Platinum after only 8 months.  I should get it in the mail this week!  But still toy limit $500

Re: Determined to get a solid CapitalOne upgrade!

I never see prequalifications for myself online. I have some platinum mastercards that have qs1 rewards that are almost 3 years old. Cap1 will not let me do anything with those cards, 1 card has 4,000k limit, another has a 3500k limit and another has a 4500k limit. The rep. via chat suggested I check prequalified section, which I do on occasion. To my shock there were 3 offers for me. I am little annoyed i did not get approved for 5k signature, but I am thinking in 6 months, ill be there with that card.

Re: Determined to get a solid CapitalOne upgrade!

Smiley HappyYsettle unfortunately two months ago when I applied my scores were not this high. EX was 583, EQ and TU were around 620ish. I was unaware of a fraudulent collection on my EX report and didnt pull my scores until after responding to their mailed offer. My own fault. Opened the Freedom card the same day so Im not sure if closing the Capital One card will have a negative effect on my aaoa down the line but honestly I dont care. Its getting closed once my October statement reports. No hard feelings toward Capital One at all like I said part of this is my own fault for not researching and being totally aware of my overall credit situation before applying. Have had far better experiences with Chase so far and these two cards are enough for me to improve with time. Credit steps can kick rocks
