I should add, I've had the large gap in APR on the prequal 2 times before and I was denied both times. It was early in my rebuild and I had 1 or 2 $500 cards (and my scores were Junk)
but this making me think it's good... 12.24%– 15.24%
@bichonmom wrote:Well not sure what to think. The range on the mailer is 10.99 to 14.99, so that's 4% diff. It is for the red/burgundy Discover It card, but the online app showed a choice of colors, so I don't see that making a diff. The envelope is burgundy, though.
Obviously if Humpty Dumpty gets a pre-approval online, then it means nothing.
Do they always use one CRA, or does it vary?
LMAO!!!!!! I thought I had read them all!!

Yep, that is good.
The key whether its a real offer or not seems to be the point spread.. Had a family member have a set APR on his mailing... But alas he didnt apply.. But from experience have seen if its a tight spread on paper.. its a bit more likely to be a real offer... ifi ts wide.. its no different than Humpty... BTW the APR offered on that one card offer was 12.something.. (I was envious... i was getting much higher offers)

That seems to be likely but how current might the info be, that Discover is using on the person using the site? I'm worried now because I had always heard Discover's prequal site is junk. I'm wanting to apply for the It card in about 5 days. I just checked to see if I prequal and I had the wide range. Like 11.24% to 22.24%. My scores right now are around 730 or so. But once a bunch of debt I paid off reports in about 5 days (about 15 grand or so, amongst other things), I'm thinking my score should go up a good 40, maybe 50 points?
I'm gonna naturally check the prequal again before applying. Anyone curious to find out if my prequal results change? And if I actually get the card when and if I apply?

Well my EQ is 671, 6% UTI, I think 9 INQ or so. Newest account opened was my citi Double Cash in October.
EQ was 670, Util 7%, Inq 31 (just checked CK) and Double Cash in December and reporting already. I was approved on Friday!

Well that's interesting. Thexian100 looks like you've got a real good shot at an approval if you apply.
Yet here I am with scores around 730, about 5-9 inq's, my last account opening was about 2 months ago. And I'm getting the wide range on the Disco prequal site.
I've already got the Disco More card which I've had for about 5 years. I would have thought that would have helped my chances getting the IT card. I'm really curious about how my odds look in 5 days when my scores go up 40 plus points or so.
