Date of Application:

Credit profile at the time of application:

FAKO in upper 500's-low 600's, 1 CO from 2011 that's actively being paid down, Cap1 Secured with CL of $200 unsecured Cap1 QS1 with $500 CL all opened in Feb 2016.

Any BK on file, if so how old and was Discover IIB:

No and No

Any Charge offs paid or unpaid and how old:

1 CO for $3,600 with Cap1 that is in collections being actively paid down.

Past history with Discover:

None

Approved or denied, if denied what were the reasons and did you recon:

Approved for the secured with a $300 CL after denial for unsecured. I asked discover recon after the denial about the secured card and they told me to app online and take another hard pull. I wanted 3 lines of credit to age together while I work on paying down this CO and start sending GW letters to have it either marked as paid or deleted.

Side note, my secured Cap1 just reported yesterday and my CK FAKO went up by 25pts. I'm hoping to see other increases when the QS1 and Discover finally start reporting. Thinking about opening a small secured line of credit at my Credit Union for some variety. I've learned so much from this board over the last 2 months. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Re: Discover Secured Card - Approval / Denial Data Points Thread

I can't give super accurate data points because it is my DH's app, but when the open Discover Secured went online he applied and was outright denied.

I was reading the forums last night and came across this thread, and I got his information and reapplied with his permission. The app took me to a screen where I had to fill in his bank account info; did that then had to upload his gas bill and a W-2, did that and got the "we will get back to you screen". Well, they called him today and asked a few verification questions and then APPROVED, yay!

His Ficos are in the high 500s I think, due to a repo and a couple of collections. I just want to thank everyone who shared their details. Discover has changed a lot since I got my secured in 2014. I started then with $200, unsecured in 11 months and limit now $4k. Love Discover!

Personal Credit? Check. Business Credit? Check.
Mission Accomplished.
Thanks MyFico!
