Re: Discover card

I dont understand why people want discover. Its not taken very many places and they are very exclusive it seems. To me it seems like people try so hard to get a card they cant use anywhere just to say they've got a discover card.

Re: Discover card

Brammy,

I did not realize that Discover will approve post BK....I thought Discover and Amex were both "no go"s after a BK. I have the most credit that I will ever use....

But I want the status of Discover and Amex just to say I have them. Is that sad or what?Smiley Very Happy

Re: Discover card

30ross30 I would call and see what's up.  Sounds like you may get approved.  I love my discover card and I don't care that some places don't accept it.  I have also found that most of my favorite store do accept it so the card gets plenty of mileage.

Re: Discover card

Thanks so much for the encouragement!  I enjoyed my Discover when I had one several years ago, too.  Smiley Happy  I'm thinking that they probably will offer me the HSBC Discover, but we'll see and I'll post tomorrow and let you know.  Thanks!!!!

Re: Discover card

Brammy, I have a Discover More card and was just approved in April 08 with a discharged chapter 7 BK from March of 2007. They will approve much sooner than 7 years post BK.

Re: Discover card

brammy--
what did you say when you called for a recon? and if everyone is saying you will be denied if you get that 30 day msg, then why don't they just go ahead and say you were not approved???? doesnt make a whole lot of sense

Re: Discover card

I got my Discover i april 06 applied on line with pre-approved offer and was denied.  About a week later a rep called and said they were reviewing app and needed more info.  I was just separated and lots of my info had changed recently.  Took about 10 minutes to explain the situation to the lady and was approved for 2k.

I have had a great relationship with them and have gotten 3 CLI 2.5k, 3k 3.6k without asking.  They also call occasionally and ask why I don't use the card more.  APR 10.9%  MY CU platinum Visa is only 7.9% so they offer me great BT rates (well, not 0%, but 2.9 ).

Also started with Basic card and got upgraded to Platinum without asking as well.  They have great customer service whenever I've called and all call centers seem to be in US .

Worth a shot, to call them and see if they will manually review your app.
