So i noticed an unsual charge on my Discover and decided to call and before it was just a instant answer. Now its offering a menu, did they change this?
edit: Unsual charge figured out - i pumped gas and usually stations put a $1.00 charge for a hold....well this station decided to put a $75.00 hold. In my opinion thats a bit excessive and double what i pumped.

Yeah depending on what gas station you goto they can put hold on your cards, it annoying but you never get charged so it not a big deal to me. There are some gas stations that put holds on your card up to ninety nine dollars

On Amex, they like to hold $100. To avoid it in the future, go in and prepay if you are concerned about going over your CL. If not, the auth usually drops off in 48-72 hours.
I don't think it's a bad practice as one have to see it from both perspectives. If you were the owner and then later find out that the card didn't went through. If I were a gas business owner, I would put at least from 50 to 80 to save those funds. I don't mind them doing that to me either because my CL 90% of the time are really good and I do not have to be concerned of reaching the maximum CL
Got everything figured out about my charge thanks!, but what about the new phone menu? I remember being able to call in and instant rep, now im given a menu. Is this new?
I called Disc earlier tonight and was also met with a menu and a long wait time to reach a CSR. I'm hoping this isn't a new norm now, as their amazing customer service is one of the few things that sets them apart. It just might have been that way due to it being a Sunday night, perhaps.

I don't know if it's new but I like it, because I prefer the automated line. FYI If you press "0" it will send you straight to an account manager. Just an extra step.
