I disagree. Discover has a pretty solid prequal usually. In fact they're the only one besides HSBC that actually sent me a letter telling me why they couldn't prequalify me.

I think most here get a standard prequal message without a set APR.

I definitely got a set APR both times and so do most who report getting prequals. I don't know why that has been your experience but it's not the norm.

Re: Discover it Cash Back Card questions

My DM applied in June of this year she had recieved a mailer. They pulled Experian at the time of app she had a score of 670 approved for 8000 her income was 48000. My sister (19) applied in Sep they pulled Experian her score was 723 at the time of app only other cc she has was from our local credit union limit 100 and she got approved for 2250, income 18000. She had used disco prequalify like many others have suggested. We live in Southern California and both my DM and sister love the dicover it card no complaints from them so far

Re: Discover it Cash Back Card questions

Hmmm, I don't know if anybody around here has that card....

lol just kidding, of course.

Try the prequal tool! It tends to be quite reliable. Disco pulls only once generally, but as to which bureau, it's hard to say. Experian would be my GUESS. In my personal experience, Disco seems to like being your first good SL. Not always, though, of course. I've never seen lower than $500, but unless your credit is terrible, I would bet you'll get a much better limit.

Check the prequal and good luck!!! It's a great card.

Re: Discover it Cash Back Card questions

Thanks for all of the valuable feedback guys :-)  It appears the Discover It card is a good card to utilize!

I'm going to take all of the good advice given and go ahead apply for the card over the next couple of days. I just did a prequalify and things look good.   I'm just waiting on my Transunion report to update by Monday and I'll be under 30% credit utilization on my other cards.

Fingers crossed

thanks again
