If discover says you are pre qualified is there a good chance you will get the card, or do they say almost everyone is pre qualified? Cap1 said I was pre qualified for QS1 and I was approved. I just do not want to risk a hard pull with anyone for nothing.
No, everyone is pre qualified for Discover. You can type anything in. Cap1 pre quals are far better!
Try Donad Duck and I will let you in on a secret, the last four digits of DD's SSN are 1234.

This is what came up when I checked
Does this mean that I am pre qualified?

You are right. I just tried it...LOL...Thats funny
Normally pre-qualified offers that do not have a specifically stated APR are not really good indicators of whether you will be approved. They are normally just "suggestions" of which card they think you should apply for.
I really hope Donald Duck uses a credit monitoring service so he doesnt risk identify theft and fraud.
Yeah, the Discover prequal is pretty useless

I think Donald Duck uses multiple alias, last I heard his name was Anders And.
I'd say it's up in the air. The best indication of approval for Discover is a specific or smaller range for APR. Considering that they "prequaled" you with a massive range, I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
I got mailers for years and was denied a couple of times. Did the prequal and got the It Chrome. Decided what the heck since it was a dream card and was instantly approved for $6k. It really comes down to how badly you want the card and if you have the inquiry to burn... but I wouldn't depend on that prequal.
