I thought I would share this with everyone. I went on the 23rd of March to check and see if I could get a second Disco since my year was up on the 21st. It said they didn’t have any offers and I would get a letter.
Well I got the letter and the reasons are:
One or more bank revolving accounts opened in the last 3 months
Number of inquiries in the last 3 months
No open installment trades
Of note, they used EX data for the SP which means that they didn’t like AMEX in January and Citi in February. As a matter of fact, EX only has 3 inquiries on it as of this morning (apparently EX just dropped AMEX last year and Ollo in 11/2017 or they have a system glitch since this is my actual report) with 12/1 being the first, 1/3 being the second, and 2/12 being the third.
New accounts in the last three months, I have had three. Two in January, one in February.
No installment speaks for itself.
I am curious if anyone else has gotten a similar letter or if they have applied and gotten these reasons on the rejection?
I cant really speak to a second Disco as I dont have one yet. But when I got the first one in November I had like 25 HPs on EX and 8 fairly new accounts. Maybe its because you are trying to get a 2nd one or something not sure. Sounds like you got some pretty good cards the last couple months so I wouldnt sweat it. Discovers loss.
@Anonymous I dont think it's so much being sensitive to credit seeking as much as knowing that they wont be your one and only.
Pretty much tells the computer it's going to be used for 5% (10% in a first year) only, and nothing else, which is a loss for them.
Disco likes thin and needy.
I love them, tho. No hate for Disco.
Yeah I am not actually planning on getting another one, I was just testing the water lol.

Yeah that makes sense.
I wasn’t actually going to apply, I was just looking to see what APR they think I am worth now. I love Disco too, this doesn’t change anything it was just for DPs. I have never heard of this particular reason with them before.

Yup, same! Disco doesn’t luv me at all right now. No pre approvals and no CLIs in 9 months. Despite nearly 100 point score increase since opening my first card.
Similar verbiage on the letters?
I actually did get CLIs twice before I got the not enough experience letter from them. I really have no complaints about Discover, I just found this letter to be interesting.

Before I added two cards, they were offering lowest apr. Right now I think it' something like 22%

That’s what I was curious about. This one is up to 22.24% after June according to them so I wanted to see if they would offer me lower on a new one. It also just scratches a bit of that itch to see that a company wants your business lol.
