Individual card under 28.9% and aggregate util under 8.9% are all you need. 1% would actually look like you don’t use credit in a review and could do more harm than good.
I believe as long as it's not 0% (no credit used at all), then you don't get dinged. I don't think it's necessary to have to report a higher UTI (upto 8%). As long as you're between 1-8%, you are fine. I've kept mines pretty much consistent in between 1-2% and never let it get any higher then that.
While this is true for those of us with large credit lines, OP doesn’t have those. My suggestion was specifically for OP, not in general.

@ Saeren: When I said 1% I was more thinking along the lines AZEO, & getting every last point as I possibly can. Does it really matter which card I leave the balance whether it has a large or small CL?
If I left for example $75 on my QS since that has the smaller CL & 0 out discover would still put me @ 2% overall UTIL 6% for indidviual card. Hopefully chase & synchrony wouldn't frown on that too much as long as my overall profile is in good shape.
That would be fine. You’re definitely overthinking it a bit. Even with organic spending habits, with lower limits they would be expecting higher balances from a “normal” consumer.
