Some think it is silly but I like having a card per network, so for me that's reason alone to get a Discover. The 5% and Shop Discover plus amazing customer service are the others.

lol it is silly but hey whatever works, also because Sams Club doesn't take Visa -note this is a credit card forum so don't bring up Visa debits

lol yeah. 5% on a 8 dollar hotdog.
discover was plastered over six flags.
lol you also get 5% off flash passes and those can cost alot per person.
i live about 15 minutes away from six flags, and have been once in about 5 years. (which was this september)
there werent many long lines besides superman and batman and even then no more then a 10 minute wait.
is it 5%off (cashback) on the tickets to get in as well? season passes? we paid 220 for 4 of us to get in and we had about 6 adults and 2 kids. think of the cash back....
as for shop discover.
chase also has something similar that is called ultimate rewards mall which offers up too 10% that ive seen + the 1% you usally get unless its the 5% category.
i went this june and its FULL! i always get the flash pass because im to lazy to wait in line. i dont know if you get the 5% on the tickets because i didnt have my discover yet when i went. but if you buy your tickets online at least 3 days before going you get discounts
i'm surprised no one mentioned it but Discover also has a 0% foreign transaction fee on the IT card with no annual fees. but at the sametime I'm not sure if it's worth it cause I question Discover's acceptance rate world wide.
If you shop online.... ShopDiscover is the best online shopping rewards program; end of story. You can use the card through Amazon with the cashback you have earned through normal daily purchases. CS is certainly at the very top or the best. Never had an issue with them or acceptance anywhere. Of course all the usual perks like roating categories and such. Their online site is very easy to use, and easily my favorite to use out of several prime lenders. You can pick a bunch of neat card designs LOL.

ShopDiscover (online shopping cashback portal); Cash Over (get cash at cash registers at participating stores when using Discover - no fees, regular APR; Money Messenger (send money for free); excellent US based customer service; useful 5% cashback categories; many choices for card designs; etc.
The only thing I don't like is the spending tiers to reach 1% cashback since many cashback cards offer the 1% without having to meet any requirements.
Totally agree. Also would like to add the no forexfee, the worldwide acceptance within the Diners Club network and the 0%APR for 15 months (at least what you can get if there is an offer).
And the IT looks good in my opinion And the money messenger ist nice and the customer service is just great. The respond in a very short time and always did help right away.
Buy three Express men shirt get 40% s express discount + 10% shop Discover + 5 % online shopping............it's came out about less than $10.
There nothing better than that. I love Discover.
ITS PAID TO DISCOVER.

is a good link, comparing the online reward malls as of July of this year, on a selected set of retailers.
Shop discover comes first, closly followed by Perk Central,( which Im sure will get a lot of hate from people here). The list contains a number of airline etc malls, but there are a lot. Discover, Capital One, Chase, Citi, Bank of America and Wells Fargo are listed.
Fortunately or otherwise, I only have mall access to a few (Capital One, Bank of America, Barclays) but even there, you can spend way too much time, comparing them all when purchasing items and doing the math (e.g. so those three cards have a 1.5, 2 and 1% cashback themselves, so 9% back on BoA is a little better than 10% on Capital One etc). Then you remember you are talking about tiny differences. Last time, I compared printer ink, and then found Amazon sold it for $5 less than the cheapest of these, after all rewards, and my Chase card gives 3% on amazon anyway!
