lol yeah. 5% on a 8 dollar hotdog.
discover was plastered over six flags.
lol you also get 5% off flash passes and those can cost alot per person.
i live about 15 minutes away from six flags, and have been once in about 5 years. (which was this september)
there werent many long lines besides superman and batman and even then no more then a 10 minute wait.
is it 5%off (cashback) on the tickets to get in as well? season passes? we paid 220 for 4 of us to get in and we had about 6 adults and 2 kids. think of the cash back....
as for shop discover.
chase also has something similar that is called ultimate rewards mall which offers up too 10% that ive seen + the 1% you usally get unless its the 5% category.
Most of the Chase items are +1 or +2 UR points. The ShopDiscover tiers seem to be +5%, +10% and +15% (with the +15% being the same type of thing that gets you +10 UR points - flowers, strawberries, etc.).
I got a total of 12% cashback on an iPad (gift) purchase between 5% back on online shopping, 5% back through ShopDiscover and a 2% back Black Friday only deal. There's no deal anywhere near as good on Chase UR Mall (even if you try to justify it with points transfers).
While I've not used it, CashOver (purchase APR on cash back at participating stores) seems like it would eliminate the need to carry a debit card (if you PIF).
Like DistantArray said, Discover has 0% FTFs. I believe I read that China? has an extensive Discover network and in Europe, it'll use the DinersClub International network.

is a good link, comparing the online reward malls as of July of this year, on a selected set of retailers.
Shop discover comes first, closly followed by Perk Central,( which Im sure will get a lot of hate from people here). The list contains a number of airline etc malls, but there are a lot. Discover, Capital One, Chase, Citi, Bank of America and Wells Fargo are listed.
Fortunately or otherwise, I only have mall access to a few (Capital One, Bank of America, Barclays) but even there, you can spend way too much time, comparing them all when purchasing items and doing the math (e.g. so those three cards have a 1.5, 2 and 1% cashback themselves, so 9% back on BoA is a little better than 10% on Capital One etc). Then you remember you are talking about tiny differences. Last time, I compared printer ink, and then found Amazon sold it for $5 less than the cheapest of these, after all rewards, and my Chase card gives 3% on amazon anyway!
Thanks for the link. I noticed that the Upromise mall was high on the list. Ive been thinking about their MC issued by Barclays as well (but since its Barclays it would be the very last card I get in a while and Im not sure if I want to deal with them.)

If you have Sapphire card they had 10% off apple store on Nov28th and 25% more value on points for travel would knock it over Discover's and with better purchase protection =)
Discover has it's moments but Chase is very competitive, also remember there's a 10/10 bonus if you have checking as well, and 5% categories turns into 6.25% with freedom if you have sapphire so it's hard to say who's better, I just like Chase cause they gave me tons of money this year lol sign on bonus for everything even checking =)

Hey, Barclays isn't all bad, they just gave me an auto CLI on my Barclays Mastercard Rewards after 6 months! It was from 4.7K to 7.2K, when my next lowest CL is 14K, but still, it's the thought that counts. I will probably cancel it anyway as the rewards are no longer useful (BCP/Penfed both beat on both groceries and gas, Cash Plus on utilities)
thats their regular T-Shirt. It's 29.99 original. Knock them down around 10 bucks.
Discover also offer $150 cash back bonus for $1000 spending in three months. Check this out Durcannn

I just did the same thing on Moosejaw, 20% on their site, 15% back through shop discover, then 5% CB for online purchases... 60 dollar North Face Sweather ended up costing me less than 30 bucks and I got free 2 day fedex air through shop discover...
another plus for discover is you can use your cashback for gift cards worth more than the actual cash back... for example they have 50.00 Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards for 40.00 cash back
