Re: Discover - why should this make my list?

I've just discovered that Discover has a card builder page, whereby you can choose the terms for the card you apply for including sign-up bonus. The highest sign-up bonus is $200 for spending $1,500 in 3 months.

I'm still in my first statement with discover, how quickly do they post cashback to your account?

Re: Discover - why should this make my list?

Discover also started up a Price Protection program this year.  Is there any another NO FEE card out there that can match this benefit?

https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/member-benefits/price-protection.html

What is Price Protection?

If you find a lower price on a recently purchased item at any store within 90 days of purchasing the item with your Discover card, you are automatically eligible for a reimbursement of the price difference up to $500.

Do I have to pay a fee for Price Protection?

No. However, the entire cost of the qualifying purchase must be charged to your Discover Card for coverage to apply.

IIRC, Citi has a similar program called Price Rewind. I haven't actually looked into it, but I assume it's available for all Citi cards, including those with no AF.

Re: Discover - why should this make my list?

Discover has been sending me monthly pre-approvals for Discover More (seriously, it's been ridiculous - one a month to TWO different addresses). I finally caved and checked it out. One night, as the haze of insomnia was rushing over me, I decided to app for it. The website seemed to be down for maintenance right after I applied, so I didn't get a response and wasn't sure if the application had gone through. In the days following, I was hoping it didn't because I figured since I already had Freedom, this wouldn't be worth the HP.

Boy was I wrong. All of the Christmas shopping I can do online, I've done through ShopDiscover, and I am *shocked* at how amazing it is. I bought a groomsman gift for my upcoming wedding (after thoroughly price comparing), and got $9.39 back (incl. the online shopping category 5% back) on a purchase that was $35.99 pre-tax and shipping. I am so glad I apped for this card!
