Re: Discover

Have you tried to see if they would delete your collections in exchange for payment or are they paid already.

Depending on where you live and how many new accounts you have in the past year, maybe Cash+ would be an option for you ( they will frequently pull TU and that's your highest score).

Additionally,  if you're under 5/24, you might want to try Chase prequal. Dont be discouraged if nothing comes up, many never get a prequal, but it might be worth a try.

Re: Discover

+1 what Remedios said.  Also, if you travel and Delta services your local airport, you may consider an Amex Delta card - with the caveat that your limit may be quite low and stay that way until the collections are removed.

If the collections can be removed or will fall off anytime soon, your otherwise good history can certainly help you be much more strategic with future applications.

Re: Discover

4506t is a form submitted through equifax, that you have to sign, is a federal earnings statement release, that gives equifax the right to pull your federal yearly earnings and submit them to discover, and if those earnings do not match usually within 10% give or take what your stated income is discover will freeze then close your accounts, even though they say on the application that you can put income of those who contribute to paying your bills if its not on your personal tax return they dont care, and will close

Re: Discover

If they cant pull financial data from a 4506-t they will just close your account if they cannot perform a financial review on you

Did you apply for a second Discover and get a 4506-T request? And they found the tax transcript didn't match your income so Discover closed the cards?
