Does NFCU require HP for authorized user?

Seeing about adding friend for credit building and wasn't sure if they HP. Also, anyone know if Citi does or does not as well?

Adding an AU for NFCU or Citi accounts will not incur any HPs

No HP at NFCU.  Adding an AU is easy via member number.  But by calling you can say it is just for reporting if you do not want a card sent.  They may also require that person to be a member.

Just to chime in with a little fact.. Discover DOES do a hard inquiry to authorized user's added to the primary owner's account.

That wasn't my experience with having 3 different Discover cards over the years.  So, I wouldn't state that as a blanket statement for adding any AUs..

I too thought Discover would be hp for the recipient based on them wanting ss#?

I added DM last year and she got a hard inquiry EX8. Confirmed on Live chat with an agent.

That's interesting. They asked for the typical ID info and there was no HP for any of the AUs I added ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did she possibly have a bad relationship with them in the past? It could be dependant on the person, similar to how amex will or will not allow certain people as AUs
