The Propel isnt what we call a card that gets bucketed but its limit is often in line what Wells is comfortable giving to ones profile. They are conservative and usually one who has money with them can see better cl. Your profile looks top notch. You can try the sp method to get cli and if they need to pull to check for a cli you can do so. If you arent really using the card that may affect yoyr cli chances though.
Understand the pain OP! My first mortgage was with WF but that was paid off in 2007; with their reputation I really wasn't looking for further business. When I read they offered great insurance on cell phones I took the leap. Best advice I can offer is use it for a small monthly charge. I no longer have many expenses so I break up what I can to help with activity. I split my cell phone bill by charging half to WF Propel and half to blooms amex/macys amex on alternating months. Rinse, repeat.
SP CLI's have been approved at 7 month mark. (Tried 6 months, no go.)
Opened Aug 2019 $3,000 SL
Mar 2020 SP CLI +800
Oct 2020 SP CLI +1,000
With time hopefully the CLI amounts will grow and if not it doesn't really matter, the current limit is more than enough for a $25-50 monthly charge. If the phone insurance perk is nerfed, will more than likely close card.
GL!
I use it for Netflix, no big deal. PIF before statement cuts and AZEO bc of how jumpy lenders are right now. I haven't closed the card. don't want any profile changes except regular pay down of mtg and very limited SP CLI's.
had two Citi SP CLI during July and one Amex SP CLI, other than Macy's Amex. Was honestly surprised no Citi SP CLI denial for too many newly accounts.
Maybe it will grow but I have gotten no SP luv at all. I was giving it $750 usage a month through the one year mark and they want a HP for any CLI. Don't let any balances report.

That's a good amount of spend. What a PITA! I will always find it so strange how certain banks work for some, not so much for others with similar profiles. It's really up to the consumer to identify your best financial partner(s) and settle in for the long haul. Hopefully, in the future they warm up to your profile OP. If not, the curb is a stone's throw away!
