It's not true, apparently...i chatted with a CSR today and she said there is no glitch in the system and that although they are working on setting up conversion of Double Cash to Custom Cash, there is NO TIMELINE...said to check back every 2-4 weeks... Smiley Frustrated

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

You could have gotten a $300 cash bonus if you had applied at a CitiBank branch.  $1000 spend required over three months.

That's great for OP if their profile supported it or they wanted a new account and/or a new HP. Sometimes PC is the best way to go in that regard.

Citi branches are not accessible outside a few concentrated areas... California, Las Vegas, Chicago, DC, NYC, south Florida... and single branches in Dallas, San Antonio, Jacksonville, Sioux Falls SD, and Wilmington DE.  I'm 5 hours drive from the nearest Citi branch, and much of the country is farther than that.

I got mine with a PC as well.  I could have probably canceled my old card instead of converting and then apped for a new CustomCash, but I'm trying to keep inquiries and new accounts low right now for some stuff I want to do next year.  I know I passed up a 20K points bonus, but I felt like this was the less risky option.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm converting after I redeem my cash back after the statement cuts September 4th.

You're very welcome...after hearing that i am thinking about doing the same thing...convert Double Cash to Rewards Plus and then convert again to Custom Cash after 60 days...

Hardly surprising.  With their IT, it could take years for the PC functionality on the DC.

@Anonymous   Yes, 51 days for the 1st PC to process, then (7-10 days) after the 2nd PC to receive the CCash.  But as @CreditCuriosity mentioned, it's better to do the 1st PC to a non-TYP type card, so that you don't disqualify yourself from future TYP SUB's that may possibly arise.

They did DC --> AA Miles --> CC.   I think I am going to take the DC --> Diamond Preferred --> CC route.

I just did it and did the diamond preferred like you said you would. It looks like my account number, balance transfer offers are still there. I was going to wait until sept 4 but I realize what am I waiting for. I last charged my card in June and July I paid off the balance. My statement cut Aug 4 so I don't have any pending rewards. I redeem them yesterday. It says I can stop the conversion by Oct 13. So I assuming Oct 14 is when I can convert to custom cash.

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

@Anonymous   Awesome! I'm still sitting on my hands like a little boy with my knees bouncing, absolutely going nuts waiting for 1 more week to pass. I think this is the most impatient I've ever been with any of my credit cards. So if Citi screws the pooch on this, and I end up having to double-convert too, I'll only be a week behind you......lol.

We'll be looking for your Custom Cash conversion approval post by Oct. 15  Smiley Wink
