So, I have been watching the card application page like a hawk to see if my status has changed with them. Applying for a Platinum directly is no longer an option. I only have request an upgrade for Platinum and reserve. Out of curiosity, if I did the incognito trick, would I get the sub and a new card, or would it default to upgrade with no sub once it recognizes me? They have not sent me an upgrade offer so I would get nothing if I upgraded now, other than a higher AF due immediately.

The current SUB offers are nice, but only slightly better than the enhanced SUB on Delta cards that can be in targeted mailers, or even general public offers once or twice per year.
The reasoning for gardening was to clear out some inquiries that are holding me back from CLIs. My number 1 reason for denail, for everyone, is too many inquiries or too many new accounts. I was too aggressive with my rebuild and adding accounts. They don't start falling off my report until May next year
I'm not even eligible to upgrade yet which makes the upgrade language odd to me. I was approved on 10/17/18, so I couldn't upgrade right now if I wanted to. It's more curiosity than anything. Questions for down the line. At this point, I'm more interested in getting a hotel card. Marriott is preferd, but yeah, not gonna happen anytime soon. The gold has been sufficient for me and I've already taken the equivalent of 4 round-trips using my skymiles. If anything, adding the gold charge would be the best choice because of how much I spend on groceries and eating out.
Def don’t upgrade unless they give u a really sweet offer. Make a new app once the SUB is to your liking. That card recently had some major changes made to it and may no longer be a keeper. AF going up next year so if u apply do it soon. AF goes up to $250 on 01/30/20 from $195. Onemileatatime and other sites have info on all of the changes good and bad. Actually all of the Delta cards with AX are changing.

Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly you're not seeing the Platinum/Reserve cards while you're logged in to app for?
No, they're there, but the only option is request an upgrade. If I don't want to upgrade, how would I apply. I guess call in.
