Embarrassing Credit Cards

Hypothetical question.  If you were out having lunch/dinner at a high end restaurant, and someone within the group pull out an Orchard or First Premier card, would you be embarrassed?   I expect to see meals being paid for with an AMEX card or some other uber card.

Re: Embarrassing Credit Cards

Better than waiting for someone to count coins.

But nah lots of people probably don't even notice some credit cards are better.

Embarrassed? Heck no! I'd be grateful that they were generous enough to pick up the check. Smiley Happy

Re: Embarrassing Credit Cards

Most people don't know. Most people wouldn't care.

If I were to witness my company pay with a First Premier card, I certainly wouldn't say anything to embarrass them. I'd rather have someone pay for my meal with a FP, though, than pay their meal with my Amex. You never know with Amex. They might just shut your card down when you are trying to pay. Now, that's really embarrassing. Smiley Wink

I've always been in situations where when its time to pay the bill, the waitress brings the bill and leave.  We write in the tip and set the credit card and bill on the table for them to pick up.

Re: Embarrassing Credit Cards

You probably should pay upfront, cause some waitress are known to skim your credit card when your card is not within your sight.

As much as I keep an eye on my bank accounts and credit reports, I'd be able to pinpoint quickly who the culprit is.

Re: Embarrassing Credit CardsS

If the restaurant doesn't have a check presenter (black leather holder) that can hide a payer's card, then its a subprime restaurant.

99% of people won't know the difference between an Amex card and a First Premier. The 1% people that do are mostly merchants wishing you paid with FP.

Most retail stores have self sliding swipers. A lot of restaurants now allow customer to pay at register to avoid skimming...

Having a card is more about how useful it is then it's image these days.

My Amex gold pr just arrived today, and it is a pretty card in my wallet.
