From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

I have seen this alluded to before and would like some elucidation. Are there people freezing specific bureaus, thus forcing the company to pull a different (presumably better looking for the applicant) bureau i.e. EQ in lieu of EX?

That is the theory behind it. But by doing so a person is attempting to bypass having a legitimate inquiry being reported on a particular CRA.

I completely agree with you on the ethics issue. I just wish the CRAs (Experian, I'm looking in your direction...) would hold up their end of the bargain by reporting accurate information in a timely manner. I spent 6 months getting items removed from their report that should have taken a small fraction of that time. In my estimation, it is equally unethical to essentially blacklist an applicant by using a notoriously difficult CRA to work with. WFNNB basically slammed the door in my face because they used EX and wouldn't consider the other, more accurate CRAs. Now when they pre-approve me in the checkouts and I give them the raspberry
Anyway...sorry...rant over!

In addition (correct me if I'm wrong), now that I am a customer with Barclays I believe if I request a CLI, PC et al, Barclays is allowed by law to review my CR with either a hard or soft pull. I believe the CCC can access a frozen CR without my permission.
