Fico Score 650
Total past Due                                   Credit history           Late payments
No accounts past due                             9 Years                      6

Why would my score drop 40 points when the old past due account fell off my report????

I can't figure this out!!

How old are your other accounts?  Was the one that dropped off one of your older ones?  Is it possible that when you lost the account, you decreased your average age siginificantly?

I thought about  that but wouldn't the history field change?

Re: Ex Report (Help)

I also lost my oldest account (thru an 'investigation' with an OC - Verizon) and lost points -- but it rebounded the next month by almost 120 points (PLUS SCORES - not FICO).  I would much rather have a 'clean' payment history going forward than carry the negs and be constantly penalized.

No, the history field on MyFICO shows you the age of your oldest account, not your average age of accounts.

The only way to see your average age is on the "Factors affecting your score" page, or whatever it's called, and then only if it's listed as one of the factors affecting your score.

Still, even if it is your average age, 40 points seems like an awful lot for that.

What kind of account was this?  Did it affect your mix at all?

Re: Ex Report (Help)

Well it was the only remaining installment loan on my report. Hopefully, it will rebound...
