Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

Congrats @thefirtree on the $5K CLOC approval. Yep, before you know it, you'll get the coveted email. I've gotten two email offers since getting my card in May 2016.

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

I was wondering if I would get an offer, and just got mine. Smiley Happy

2.99% for 12 months on my platinum. So no 0% here. Smiley Sad

Guess it's all the same since I have nothing to transfer. 🙃

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

Just took advantage of a whoping $850 BT(kinda which I splurged and bought a new TV/couch etc first then did the transfer) from Penfed that was at 4.99% to NFCU at 0% and 0 fee..  Wonder how long it will take to transfer as never used a NFCU one before..  Figured as I rarely use my Navy cards, mise well show them some love.. Granted it is my greedy love as they won't earn a dime off me in interest Smiley Happy.

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

Funny! I just did the same. Transferred balances from 3 of my cards to Navy. I don't use the Navy Fed card either very often. I figured my USAA balance would be the first to show up. Then my Marvel and last but not least Blispay. Almost $3300 spread across them.

Never done a BT before. Let's see how it goes.

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

I've been hoping my wife or I would get one of these emails but nothing so far.  She has a card she would like to lower the apr on and something like 2.9-0% would be great.

Question. Has anyone been able to talk NFCU into giving the balance transfer promo to them? We couldn't get the 2.9 promo cause she didn't have a high enough credit line yet.

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

I just got the same offer too. 0% BT and zero fees from NFCU. I threw it away, but now it has me thinking.

My wife needs to buy a car in the next few months. We have around $15k in our money market account and the rest is in our Chase investment account. Anyway, we have the cash to pay for the car and don't want to finance. But thought about putting half of the car on my ML / FU card and half from the mm account.id then transfer the balance to NFCU for a year. It's free interest for a year, but would push me to half the credit line on my NFCU card ($25k line). No other consumer debt. Am I crazy for thinking this? I have some minimum spend I need to hit lol.

Re: Exclusive Offer for Cardholders -- NFCU

You could consider a BT of only 29% ($7,240) to the NFCU card.
