Do the Cell Phone protection and other protections make it a better card than the AOD?

https://www.usalliance.org/hubfs/assets/documents/disclosures/usalliance-visa-signature-benefits.pdf

edit: Cell phone protection is pretty low but it is something.

Cellular Telephone Protection is subject to a fifty-dollar ($50.00) co-payment per
claim and a maximum of two (2) claims per twelve (12) month period. The maximum benefit limit is
$250 per claim and $500 per twelve (12) month

Trip cancellation

In the event of the Insured Person’s Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption, we will pay up to the Trip
Cancellation/Trip Interruption Benefit Amount of $5,000.
Payment will not exceed either: 1) the actual Non-Refundable amount paid by the Insured Person for a
Common Carrier passenger fare(s); or 2) $5,000.
The Insured Person will relinquish to us any unused vouchers, tickets, coupons, or travel privileges for
which we have reimbursed the Insured Person.
The Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption of the Insured Person must be caused by or result from:
1) Death, Accidental Bodily Injury, disease, or physical illness of the Insured Person or an Immediate
Family Member of the Insured Person; or
2) Default of the Common Carrier resulting from Financial Insolvency.
The death, Accidental Bodily Injury, disease, or physical illness must be verified by a Physician and must
prevent the Insured Person from traveling on a Covered Trip

What is the Price Protection benefit?
The Price Protection benefit helps you save money on many products you buy entirely with an eligible
Visa card. If you buy an eligible item with your card in the United States and see a printed advertisement of it for less at any retail store within sixty (60) days of the original purchase date, simply file a
valid claim and we will refund the difference up to $1,000 per item. This benefit is limited to $4,000
a year per cardholder’s eligible account. Please note: The printed advertisement must include a
description of the item identical to the one purchased, the sale price, the store or dealer’s name,
and the date(s) the sale is in effect. The sale date must be within sixty (60) days after the original
purchase date.

Return Protection

Return Protection will reimburse you for the cost of an eligible item of personal property within ninety
(90) days of the date it was purchased entirely with your eligible Visa card if you are dissatisfied with the
item for any reason and the retailer will not accept the return. This benefit is limited to two hundred and
fifty dollars ($250.00) per eligible item and up to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) annual maximum per
account. Items must be received by the Benefit Administrator in like-new/good working condition.

Not really familiar with that card but seems to me 12% APR isn't really enticing for PIFers. No SUB either and not sure if their 3Pts actually equates to 3%?
But to each their own.

Good Luck though!

The 3 points is absolutely 3%.     This card "appeared" here first, shortly before AOD, and it was the 3% was attractive to rewards seekers expecting to PIF, so the 12% APR wasn't really an issue.   Then AOD comes along, offering both 3% AND a low APR (plus USAlliance had stopped new apps!)

Re cellphone:  I don't use this card for cell phone payment, as $250 with a $50 deductible is too low.  It's a calculation for each person to decide:  I have a choice of 5% with no protection, this one (3% with net $200), a 1.8% with net $575, or a 1% with net $775.   So depends on how valuable your phones are, and how likely you think you are to have to use the protection!

Re: Eyeing USALLIANCE 3% VS

Good luck with the app. I remember trying to join when the card popped up here on MF, I forgot the reason (not sure if it was the amount of chex inq or if they were unable to verify identity) but my app for membership was declined. Thankfully I froze EX so they couldn't pull for the card app. Would've been a wasted HP if I couldn't have even joined the CU in the first place.
