Even with the letter they get you still might be scratching your head my closure made no sense at all but I just moved in from them .
Sorry this happened. As others have suggested, they may be just reigning in all those huge limits they were handing out like candy last year/earlier this year.

Ahh, so it is as I thought, they overextended themselves on issuing cards to nearly anyone. They are now back to restricting based on where you live.
i like FNBO. i've replaced my spark cash and citi double cash with FNBO
Just today they slashed a friend's limit from 18k to $500. He has great credit so I guess they over extended and are cutting some people's credit lines.
He used the card frequently so nothing on his end should have caused it.
I haven't had the card(evergreen) very long but so far I like it. Hopefully they don't cut my 12k limit. I have used it heavily right off the bat so I won't be surprised if they slash my limit
I read a lot about how they are super strict and often slash credit lines etc. They just cut a friends credit line today. He has great credit and uses their card a lot
Curious if they ease up a lot after building a relationship with them?
They remind of synchrony with their credit line cuts and closures
Curious of others experience. Are they as bad as synchrony with the cuts?

If you take a look at how agressive they were in giving out huge limits last year and into the beginning of this year.. They were kind of late to the party and realize with the current state of everything that's going on.. it's not smart and they have to cut back.
Pre-emptive moves on their part. Don't take it personal. They're probably in a position where they have to start reducing their exposure.
This. So much this.
I got an FNBO card this year with $15,000. Used it for a while, then stopped for a couple of months ($0 during that time). They CLD'ed it down to $500. No missing zeros there. From fifteen thousand to five hundred. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can only offer my experience as an anecdote. I've had my FNBO Evergreen for less than a year (November '21), and while it started high at $15,000, it's now $500. They cut the limit without saying as much. I have no carried balance.
Sorry for account closure OP, strikes me very odd since you've in fact had your account long before they started dishing out the $15K limits. Was this your only FNBO account with them? Back in August I received a firm reminder that my account may not remain open much longer w/o usage. After logging into the app I realized my last usage before receiving the letter was December 2021. So I put a few Amazon reloads on it. (Five $1 reloads to be exact).
They decided to balance chase me out of the blue once. I was carrying about 50% on the card, paying more than the minimum. I paid 2k in full the next day and stopped using them. Year later they increased me back to where I was. I used it for something to carry a month or two, They repeated it. I again PIF the following day and never looked back. 6 months or so later (last year) they closed the account. I am getting regular mailers from them. I will not ever deal with them again.
