One thing I will add to Dinos info is, FNBO is not a publically owned bank it is privately owned so it doesnt have access to the capital markets like the bigger boys do.

Sorry to hear this. You could have spooked them a little with your maxxed out card. You said your CL isnt much higher than your balance? Could be part of it?
think they were saying they were balance chased, so NOW their cl isn't much higher than their balance
@gdale6 that's a good point. I was telling the Mrs this morning that they were a smaller regional bank, she said the CSR effectively told her that on the phone. So it's definitely Risk mitigation at work.
The only part that was kinda grimy was lowering the limit, skyrocketing the utilization, and mid-cycle reporting it so you get throat-punched on your Fico score. Not kinda grimy, it's just grimy.
@805orbust wrote:How long has the Evergreen card been offered? Crazy that I never asked that question before.
As far as I know the Evergreen was a new offering last year. The only hard date I could find was July 12th. Mentioned here;

It would make sense that since it wasn't a geo-fenced card and was available to anyone in the US then that was probably the day it went live for applications generally.

@805orbust Com'mon now grimy! You should know that this privately held bank got called out (feds) on their selling techniques for credit insurance policies and fined with actionable directives too. The ownership family did some house cleaning (which they should have known about) back around 2016.
Ohhhh, it's all coming out now! @Anonymous you are dropping those GEMS today!!! 🤣🤣🤣
As I've posted @Doodlebug30 , my limit was cut to $500 from 15k for not using the card enough (ie using other cards more lol). I think what FNBO wants is a unicorn customer that charges huge amounts and pays it all off right AFTER the grace period, so that they get quick payment and can charge interest
I don't think that is a realistic way to run a credit card business, so I closed both my FNBO cards. I closed the Evergreen today, even though they haven't cut that limit. Yet. It's too much hassle to try to guess what they want. And I have 1% utilization, so closing the card won't affect my scores.
I don't know about being a 'unicorn' customer; however, I opened my card in Nov 2021 with a 15k CL and received an SP CLI of $5k in August of this year. I received my SUB, no problem. I even opened a checking account with a SUB of $300 with DD back in Aug, and again, no issues receiving the SUB. I've run no more than $700-$800 per month through with my ' non-category spend, paid in full each month. Now reading these threads, I'm hyper-focused on my account and checking it twice daily. I don't see much about this on the prime social media channels (i.e., FB, IG, TW), but that could be some easily cleanup on their part. I see the Wallet Hub reviews, but nothing that looks like it will take down the card just yet. The overall rating is still almost four stars. I will report back should I have any AA on my account.👌And I even have the "Happy Birthday banner when I log in 😊
I closed my Evergreen today (my payment posted and card reported to the bureaus) and I closed my Getaway last month when they cut the limit from 15k to $500 for non use. FNBO is chasing unicorn customers: people who charge huge amounts and pay it off the day AFTER the grace periord so that FNBO gets quick payment and interest.
Do those customers even exist?
In any case, I applied for the "flavor of the month" cards last year, and I am reaping the "rewards" this year lol
Lesson learned. I am thankful for everyone on this board that helps keep me in the loop on what is going on so I don't panic when something like this happens. I have 1% utilization and plenty of credit, so I am going to stay in the garden and wave goodbye to FNBO.
@MySunrise271 I received all my SUB and had a happy birthday banner too. They cut my limit anyway lol.
