Short version: If you have two FNBO cash back cards (for example NRA Visa and Ducks Unlimited Visa), would the cash back accumulate into one FNBO pool of rewards, or would each card have it's own?
Longer version:
I sent a note to FNBO after hearing that they were no longer going forward with the NRA Visa. I asked if the current card holders would still keep the cards, or if that wasn't possible, if it would be possible to product change to the Ducks Unlimited card which has the same reward structure. This is the response that I received today (I sent the question Friday morning):
"Thank you for contacting First Bankcard.
While we will not be renewing our contract with the NRA, at this time we do not have information on the exact details of the transition. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
If you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-888-295-5540
or send us an email. "
I have since searched the forums for FNBO product change, and found several threads indicating that they don't do product changes. I hope that they make an exception when they phase out a card, but apparently they haven't told the CSRs what they are doing yet.
I wondered if I should just app the Ducks Unlimited card and then try to transfer over the credit limit from the NRA card and close the NRA card. I further wondered if the rewards dollars would stay as long as I had another FNBO rewards card active.
I really don't want to take another hard pull on Experian (where they pulled last time) just to get basically the same rewards card that I have now, so I probably will at least sit tight until I hear what they have in mind for current card holders. I was just thinking out loud and trying to figure out my options.
Each card has its own rewards pool and they cannot be moved to another card. You will have to app for that DU card and yes you can move limits with FNBO you would give them a call after your new card has been activated and you have redeemed the rewards from the old card and ask that the limit be moved to the DU card.

Dang, I assumed as much. I'll get it to a demonination of $25, and cash out and get the other card unless they've announced some other plan by then.
Couldn't find any info on this so I decided to bite the bullet and call to wait on hold for 20 minutes.
Just in case anyone was wondering you cannot product change the First BankCard NRA card, or any co-branded cards I believe. CSR said different agreements, no can do, would have to close old/open new.
This makes sense though. The only thing the co-branded cards have in common is using the FNBO as their credit lender.
Are they discontinuing current NRA cards? Or just no longer offering them?
I don't have one; just curious.

They are no longer offering the card but those that have it can still use it at this time. Unless the NRA can find another company to back the card once FNBO contract with them is up, the card will be done with at that point.
DW tried to PC her FNBO card last year -no go- They said she could reapply for the card she wanted.

You know I didn't have any idea what you were talking about here actually. Does turn out to be true, though. FNBO is cutting ties with NRA and this cards' days are numbered.
I was trying to conver it to the Duck's Unlimited card, which has the same 5% gas/sporting goods cash back structure and is also backed by First BankCard (FNBO). It supports wetland conservation instead of the NRA.
