Finally Cap 1 CLI

So I finally finished my credit steps program and my capital one limit went from 300 to 500 this morning. I called them and Cap one said there were no more steps. Does anyone with knowledge to this situation can tell me if my limit would ever go up again ? I know Cap one is notorious for no raising limits. Some background info: I pay off the card off before the statement cuts and I have had the card for 7months.

That's it for that card. You will have to seek elsewhere for higher limits.

Re: Finally Cap 1 CLI

My wife's first card was Cap1. She started off with $300 on May of last year. They increased her to $750 around October. That's where it's been eversince. I don't expect anymore increases on this card. It was just a starter card for her. Since that time, she has been getting offers from AMEX. Yesterday she got a pre-approved letter from Chase for a Freedom card. Last night I took the offer and she was approved. Not sure what her limit will be. So just use Cap1 only for the purpose of bettering your credit and more on to other cards for bigger credit line. I'm sure the Freedom card will have a much higher limit than the Cap1 card.

+1. Cap1 very rarely gives out high limits on their rebuilder cards. It's possible that you might get a small CLI sometime but it's not very likely.

I was surprised your increase was only that much. My wife is new to the US. She started working April 2011. I open Cap1 for her in May. Slowly she started getting other offers like Primier and Orchard then Amex and Discover and then Chase. I held out til we got the Chase offer. She only has 11 months of credit history. I was able to get her score here on Myfico and she's at 719 and it hasn't moved. I'm very careful to pay on time for her. The offers will start to come.
