Fingerhut Credit

I've been sitting with this $7500 credit with FH and their system sucks. One item I ordered arrived 21 days. Really?

I'm thinking ditching them, it's worthless. I rather stick with Amazon!

Re: Fingerhut Credit

Whatever you decide is fine bc most view it as a starter card with the sole purpose of establishing a positive trade line in the beginning of their build.

If it’s served it’s purpose and you no longer want/need it, close it.

If there are no fees and you just want to keep it open just because.....thats fine too.

Thats the largest FH limit ive ever heard of! Wow. But in the end they are just a stepping Stone to better cards.

@Anonymous seems like you were fairly happy with them not long ago?

Plus, if you have other recently obtained CC such as JetBlue, Macy's and your recent Apple $19.5 approval then it may be worth considering whether you need to part ways.

@

The reason I am closing the account soon becuase they charge 2X even 3X. I was at FOSSIL store yesterday and was shocked they had fancy $300 watches on sale for $49 compare I just bough one from FH at $139. I called FH and cancelled it and will get refund and send item back then I"ll go back to the store and get 2 watches on sale only for $88.

FH is nice but too much, shipping takes 10 days for a item to be actual shipped. You can get 1 day prime via Amazon. Overall, FH is good for people who want build credit. I am already ahead of that so that is why I am closing all old accounts that were on rebuilding credit paths so I can keep the good cards like JetBlue, Macy's, Discover and Apple Card.

Just sayin'

I wasn't aware that anyone thought of FH as anything but a place to get starter credit and not as a serious place to do shopping.  Isn't it all overpriced

I did some comparisons to Amazon once. Much higher prices, and a limited and somewhat random assortment of goods.

At one time, didn't they require people make a big down payment from their checking accounts (not with the risky store credit, but risk-free cash)? So they would cover their COGS with risk-free cash and then get a high-risk receivable for free.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select
