So I opened the account in October 2013 with a limit of $400 up until June 8th anytime I requested a CLI either via the button or phone it was denied. I was finally approved for a small $150 increase to $550 I was happy howver was hoping for more. I called to recon to see if they could make it a bigger increase to no avail. My question is how often from the last CLI can I request another? If I request it sooner and get denied does it reset some clock or will it just auto deny for X time?
Thanks!
did you call credit solutions for recon or customer service?
Every 4th statement that posts a balance when the statement closes. That's the usual time frame any sooner usually results in not enough experience with current CL. Some have luck sooner with GECRB credit solutions in back door numbers.

I am not 100% sure who I called it was the Business Recon and they sent me to Credit Solutions. So I have to leave a balance for the statement to count? That may be the issue I have been paying it in full prior to statement being cut.

They are funny that way, pay after statement cuts and before due date to avoid interest. I think it's all in the computer algorthm. Make sure next time to call GECRB credit solutions from the backdoor numbers. They have changed their name but in backdoor numbers that's the one to call.
coldnmn....Thanks for the info I will leave at least some amount of balance when statement cuts going forward and wait 4 months and try again then it will be right around the 1 year mark of having the card. Do you suggest calling versus the button at that time?
What's great about India Credit Solutions is the fact that you can request a CLI and they will soft pull your report from 6 months ago.
I did that a couple weeks back and my denial included my TU report dated 2/21/14 when my score was 25 pts lower.
You can read all about how "great" GE is but I don't have anything good to say other than they did give me 4 credit accounts shortly after my discharge.
All 4 are now approaching a year old and with the exception of a $100 Walmart auto CLI I have been repeatedly denied when I request a CLI.
I'm done with GE. I will continue to PIF and maintain a $0 balance... Otherwise my focus is on other lenders now that I am approaching 700.
Try the CLI button if not satisfied then call. It's doubtful they transfered you to GECRB credit solutions. My guess is they transfered you to GE money bank credit analyst / credit solutions. different department. Check out my link.
I think I'm one of the lucky ones. I always pay in full and have had a CLI from all my GE/Syncb accounts at 4 month increments (excluding my carecredit).
