Anyone have experience buying tires online at Sam's Club and having it code correctly for 5%? I'm assuming it'll be like any Sam's Club purchase since it's online, but I'm a bit hesitant. I don't know if they'll charge right away when I order or if they'll charge when installing them at the auto center. I'm thinking the auto center could be excluded from the category.

1st update: ordered tires, but you don't pay until you are in store. So I'll be finding out if the auto center counts, or if it is an exclusion.

You have to pay online. If you pay in store doesn't count. It's odd that you could reserve it and pay in store, never had that happen to me before. You should have bought your tires at Walmart or pep boys

It didn't let me pay online or else I would have; it specifically said to pay in store when I am getting them installed. Maybe it is because I chose to have them installed there, and didn't just order tires by themselves. I'm guessing the auto center won't count for the 5% category.

@TSlop , can't you pay with your freedom and get 5%?
Edit - Sorry, missed the 'Freedom Flex' in the title and I thought you were asking about a Sam's Club MasterCard.

Do the 5% terms say that tires are excluded? I would email a CSR via the secure portal after it posts and ask them to manually add it.

This is what it says: "Gas, fuel, wholesale specialty service purchases such as travel, insurance, cell phone and home improvement will not qualify in this category."
I just had the tires purchased in-club, so I should see if counts when it posts. Currently it is pending, and it does say "Wholesale Clubs", just like a normal purchase. However, the regular register says "SAMS CLUB", and the tire one says "SAMSCLUB". We'll see if that space in the name means anything!

Good news.... tires do count for the 5% at Sam's and are not excluded. Huzzah!

I mean, automotive service isn't one of those categories. Those are things that aren't really Sam's, but contracted.
