This week I called Chase and requested they reallocate my $1000 Slate limit to my new Freedom. They obliged, which raised my Freedom limit to $1700 and closed the Slate account.
I plan on closing next my Walmart store card, which will leave me with 5 credit cards. My ideal number. I will PC my Bank of America 123 to Better Rewards sooner or later.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
congrats on limit moving
Thanks!
I really am unsatisfied with the Freedom categories and its rewards structure in general so I am just going to use it for a BT this month and utilize the 0% APR for the next 12 months.
After that Freedom might wind up caged indefinitely unless they improve their rewards to compete with Amex, Barclay or even Discover (who I also barely like).

Do you shop at Walmart or Sams, even occasionally? Their promotional interest offers are nice, and the store cards have no AF. I've seen the Sams MC offer, and am waiting to see what they do with the WM version. Keeping your WM store card puts you in queue for an upgrade later.
While the Freedom isn't always the best, I do find it's my go-to card. YMMV.

I shop at Walmart maybe twice a year for undergarments and the occasional pair of Rustler regular fit jeans. I simply don't spend enough there to even meet their minimum spend for the lowest promotional interest offers (I spend less than $50 usually). Most of my clothes shopping is done at Burlington Coat Factory, my toiletries & cleaning supplies at Rite Aid (sales), Dollar General or Dollar Tree, and my food shopping at Bottom Dollar or Aldi. Electronics are bought online. Add to this the nearest Walmart is about 5 miles away and it just adds up to a useless card for me. Even the possibility of a reward structure upgrade when they convert to Mastercard holds little incentive for me. I guess I'll see what transpires by June or July and make a decision then.
Thanks for looking out!
Id keep the Walmart for the free TU and sp CLI and easy and large CLI and then possible upgrade to Discover or soon to be MC version later.
Also since you are already considering transferring 1 of your BofA to a different card and consolidating, would be a good time to apply for that fidelity because you could do all of it at once with possibly just the 1 credit pull!!!
