Future CSP/CSR

Hello everyone!

I have a couple questions here. I really like the CSP/CSR as we do travel a lot. I'm wondering if the LOC I got a year ago is considered in the 5/24. I am also an authorized user for my Fiance's Kohl's card $700. That account was opened in 2014, but it was added to my report in May. Does anyone know if they look at when it was added or just how old the account is? Sorry fairly new to the credit world, so I'm trying to gauge where I am at. We would like a good travel card for our honeymoon and we also have family all over the country.

I have three cards 2 of those I got back in March. USAA sl 3k and Care Credit sl 3k.

In August I hit the love button for Care Credit and my line increased to 8400.

Last Friday I appd for the Freedom Unlimited got a sl of 6400 and I also did a limit increase request for USAA to 9k.

The objective with the Freedom Unlimited was to start building a repore with Chase as far as credit use and the trifecta. We plan on using it for bills right now.  Right now I think I am ok, but if anyone else has any advice it's greatly apperciated.

Scores are sitting at 696/711/698 Uti is sitting at 25% because we just did a large payment for our wedding. Will be paid off this month. Smiley Happy

Re: Future CSP/CSR

Store CC that can only be used at that store do not count towards 5/24. They may count if they have a VISA/MC or Amex logo on them - those can be used everywhere. And AU's do not count - I have heard of issues where people had to call in and speak with underwriting to make sure that they realize it is an AU not a primary account.

As far as chances - CSP is a "normal" Chase account - CSR is a "premium" account with a minimum approval of 10K+ SL. You did not mention the length of your credit history or what your AAofA is - but as long as it is over 1.5 years - based on the scores you listed - I think you have a good chance at the CSR - that is what I would do.

But I would pay down the wedding charges and let that post to your credit reports before I applied. 10% or less usage helps.

  • Darn I thought I got everything typed out in that first post! Haha. I am sitting at a year. I was going to give it a few more months to hopefully increase my chances of the CSR. We aren't going on our honeymoon right after the wedding due to the holiday. Definitely paying down as any balance gives me anxiety. I didn't get into the credit world for awhile because I knew I financially wasn't ready.

Re: Future CSP/CSR

Store cards do count towards 5/24. They are a revolving line of credit.

The same for AU’s. They definitely count.

Some UW’s may decide to overlook either of these types of accounts but it’s definitely not the norm and you should definitely not count on getting them ignored.

Fiancée was denied CSR for being right at 5/24. The last card opened was a Sleep Outfitters Store card when she financed a bed and the account opened before that was an AU account.

Total Revolving Limits $254,800

Re: Future CSP/CSR

They go by when the account was opened not when they started to report.

Re: Future CSP/CSR

I've had several AU accounts taken off during recon. The agent would simply rerun the application without the AU's. Doesn't mean you'll get approved for sure, but at least the application will go all the way instead of being stopped at 5/24. I've done this multiple times for both myself and family member.
