. The card was special because it sported some of our most iconic Superheros, some credit cards are so bland its like finding a 4 leaf ☘️, As for no one wanting it don't really think that's the case it's just we got our hearts broke upon instant rejection lol. I agree it was a very difficult card to get.
lol I didn't even tried DC card back then knowing it'll be rejection! Silly underwriting for a card with mediocre rewards! 🙄
X1 Card could be another hard to get card! You must get invite code in the first place to even start the application and even then, a decent credit profile is not enough! You must provide proof of income via bank statment or link to it.
AODFCU Sig Visa isn't exactly an easy acquisition between jumping through the hoops to get membership and AOD's quirky DTI math.

So, someone on Reddit had posted their referral, I applied and was approved after connecting Plaid to my WF. I didn't realize how hard it is to get approved for until my DW was denied (with a referral from me - she's at 730 EX with one baddy set to fall off this year). I gave away my other two referrals (none left) and both were denied. If you check the X1 sub-reddit, it's filled with people giving away their referrals to almost constant denials. Granted, it could be mostly people lying about their credit/income, but to the degree I'm seeing? I'm more inclined to believe either it's become much more difficult, or always has been.
X1 is garbage, in my opinion. Yes, you can go to Reddit and find some invite codes. If not, it doesn't take long to get an invitation when you sign up. I've posted this before, but I was initially declined after using an invite code I received on Reddit. A month later, X1 asked me to reapply, via email, to "update" my bank info. Instantly approved for $37,500 credit limit. I did nothing different from my initial application. How do you go from denied to approved for $37,500 CL? On that CL, the cash advance limit was $500. How does that make sense? It's a crappy card, only good for raising your debt to credit ratio.

Nah. Base CB is 2X, with boosts - as high as 5X. I used it almost exclusively for the last month since I was at 4X for all spend with referral and it was great. No issues with the card at all and with boosts, got 5X (5%) on a ton of spend.
Even at 2X, when you factor in boosts (gas is 5X, most boosts are 3X) it's a great overall card that covers spend I otherwise didn't break 2% on. (See sig)

@KJinNC wrote:I think this will be largely profile-dependent - like for me, Chase and US Bank would be hard right now due to 5/24 and 1/12. For other profiles, they'd be average. Wallethub has a list of hardest cards to get. I am not saying their list is correct, but anyway, for what it's worth, their list is:
CenturionCSR
US Bank Altitude ReserveJP Morgan Reserve
Simmons Bank Visa
For business, they list Wells Fargo Business Elite Signature
If I owned a bank or credit card issuer, I'd create a card that's super-difficult to get, like require an 840 EX 8 and 0/48 or whatever plus some other stringest requirements, simply so my card would appear on lists like thisI wonder why a small (relatively speaking) bank out of Arkansas would be on that list...I am looking at you, Simmons. lol
Simmons Bank is on the list because it requires excellent credit, so it is a credit card that may be "hardest card to get approved for."
Lol, most or not all hard to get CC"s have crap rewards. For getting free stuff and value Amex, Chase and Citi cannot be beat in the travel category.
I had a laugh looking at the x1 website "Higher limits for utilization on spend" woohoo, chase, Amex and citi can beat them at that game.
BTW x1 doesn't even pull a credit it's solely based on income, that is what Forbes said "High limits w/ low scores". I wonder how sustainable that will be......

Yes hubby and I finally got the invite however our main bank is not linked with plaid . There is no way in heck I am sending bank statements for a credit card lol .
It must be very full moon
If anyone wishes to discuss X1 in detail, please start a thread, minus the arguments disguised as strong opinions

It's not a straight CB card. You have to redeem with their partners.
We get it @redpat, you're not a fan. But, this topic isn't about rewards' comparisons or what one could get with Citi, AmEx or Chase. This topic is about "Hardest card to get approved for?"
So, for anyone participating on this thread, let's stay on topic, please.
