I have two CC with Captial One.
- Platinum $600CL 26.65%APR - AF $19
-Quicksilver One $500CL 24.65%APR -$39AF
Yesterday, I was offered to PC my Platinum to a QS1 with the same fees and APR. I wasn't offered anything for my current QS1. Should I take the offered PC or wait for a better offer? I think I have read that its hard to PC a QS1 which is why I'm hesitant. I would rather have a Venture or Savor anyway.
Have you checked the link here to see if you can move to any other cards?
@Harmony12, I'd skip the offer. It's really hard to change Capital One cards with fees into no-fee cards. And based on information provided here on the forum, if you PC, subsequent offers to PC won't appear again for at least six months. You don't want to make this any more complicated than it already is.
In the meantime, use each card every month, make a payment every month, and call in every month to check for offers. I was able to PC two QS1 cards after 12 or 13 consecutive months of usage and payments. We don't have the data points to prove that my tack is actually what caused the offers to appear, but it doesn't hurt to try.
Also note that Savor offers have never appeared via the link above. To find out of you have those available, it's been necessary to call in or chat. However, since the recent changes, we haven't heard of any Savor or SavorOne PC offers at all. It might be that we'll have to wait a few months for those to become available.
I checked the link and called. I got the same response...PC Platinum to QS1.
I have had both cards for 3-4 years without a CL increase. I didn't complete the steps program when I first got them and now everytime I ask for a CL increase I get declined. I will hold off on the PC as my FICO scores are consistently increasing. I hoping to get a PC offer or CL increase soon.
I guess I have a "love/hate relationship" with Capital One. They were the first to give me credit during my rebuild stage and they just approved me for an auto loan with for 9.31% (my last auto loan about 22%). I want to stick with them because they have been sticking with me even when I went back to school and couldn't afford to pay at times. I'm going to continue my on time payments. I have PIF my Platinum and I leave a balance on my QS1. I will PIF my QS1 soon. I'm hoping with 3-4 months they will give me a nice PC offer and CL increase.
