Help need advice!

So confused. My fico says TU 650-EQ 653 Exp 670, Just learning about fico, Always thought credit scores were what it was about ,Im young ,have mortg with chase since 1/13,Small limit cap one cards, one is $ 750 one is $350, zales/Citibank $ 950,well Fargo auto high 18k now 14k.One medical bill in collection being disputed was paid by insurance. I need home improvement card for appliance and general things like tile, etc. I don't know is it better for me to try to get a lowes or home depot card or what kind of card? My utilization is 23%. I can't seemed to get approved for any card that has a decent limit. Can't raise my credit scores past 675 for some reason... Haven't applied for anything since my mortgage left me with a lot of inquiries.FRUSTRATED BIG TIME..I have inquiries I never applied for...Please help any info appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. We will try to help you but first there are some questions.

1. How many inq and on which bureaus?
2. Besides the CA, what other derogs do you have?
3. Which cards are carrying balances?
4. How long have you had each card?
5. What do you mean by inq's for accts you never applied for?

Re: Help need advice!

You might be mixing hard inq with soft inquiries. It is difficult to tell ...try this, separate your responses by numbering them to make it a little easier to follow.

How many inq and on which boards?

Settlement one is that a collection account? If so, how old is it and what is the balance?

I'm not clear on the bank account or NCO collections from 3 years ago. Can you elaborate?

Re: Help need advice!

Thanks for the reply. The settlement one is a hard inquiry that the mortgage broker used to pull our credit .Its a company out of California nobody or no company that I owe. The bank account I was referring to NCO are things that belonged to another person with my same name. They were collections and I disputed them and all 3 bureaus removed them. I will have to look at the hard and soft inq. Im not sure if I know how to tell the difference.

Thanks again

I'll ask you no questions, but simply reference that it's hard to get past about 675 until the last baddie has fallen off. Sorry.

HPs would be under sections with headings like "Regular Inquiries" or "Inquiries Shared with Others."  SPs would have heading like "Promotional Inquiries," "Account Review Inquiries," "Inquiries Shared Only with You," and even "Inquiries that Do Not Impact Your Credit Rating"

credit one bank -122 bal 550 limit

cap one- 0 bal only 300 limit

cap one-0 bal only 750 limit

zales/cbna-0 bal 950 limit

all pd no late pymts showing

owe 945 in cc total
