Welcome to the forum. To answer your question a lot more information is needed. Current cards, average age of accounts, inquiries,  etc. This post will more then likely be moved to credit cards to get your answers. So just wait for the moderator to do that as they frown on duplicate posts.

Re: Help

I'm really too new to be of much help.  I can only tell you what I've been comfortable with since my bk four years ago.  I didn't even try an app for a year, and do not know my score at the time.  My score WAS decent according to my credit counseler. After bk....one can only imagine.   I applied for and got cap one.   its been three years with only one card. (Scores below are with one card, and a few decent old accounts on record).  I just got Discover.  I would think that starting small if you have no cards would smart.  If you have the guts to go bigger.......do it.

We definitely need more info about your credit profile. In the meantime, welcome to the forum. Smiley Happy

Re: Help

As long as you do not have a BK showing on your credit report you should be in good shape to get in with American Express. However, it would be ideal if you shared more information so that those who are very familiar with AMEX can give you some insight.
