So I figured I would try it out and I was shocked that it only asked me for income. It didn't give me a chance to ask for an amount or even cancel it. It just bumped me from $1900 to $2500. Guess I won't do that again. I called in for the smart connect cli and went from $3100 to $5000 without a hitch. I was going to try for 5k but oh well. I'll be calling amazon from now on, that button isn't cool :-/
Just wanted to let others know because I haven't seen any complaints about this buttons behavior.

Thats how all GE online requests are.

Wish I had known that. I've been reading these boards for a while and had not seen this particular complaint about it. Never Again! At least they raised it some, I should stop being greedy
I've found that calling in, regardless of whether it's at GE or elsewhere, typically yields better results than applying online. I think it's because you have to interact with a person, even if it's just voice-to-voice, and it makes card companies feel safer so they're willing to be more liberal with their CLIs. That's my theory anyway.
Just the way GE works...."LUV" button is just a system generated response. If you call in its usually better.
Not understanding what problem you are having? You asked for an increase and you got an increase correct? Is there something I'm missing? Did you want to be able to tell them specifically how much you wanted? I'm not sure I'm understanding your gripe. Thanks.

Exactly! I was not able to put in a cli amount. It just gave me the 600 after I put in my income and hit enter. Some of my other accounts let you put in the amount you want, they will counter if they can't meet it and also let you cancel the request if you don't want what they offered . In the big scheme of things it's not a big deal. Just wanted others to know how the Amazon cli button worked. I see that its known to be this way. I just had not read about it. At least it's a SP
The computer gave you what you were already prequalifiied for in the system. It's based off the soft pulls they do on a monthly basis. They ask you for your income to see if they can give you your highest pre-qualified amount.
If you could go back would you decline? I don't see how the soft pull hurt you so I'm still scratching my head wondering how this is a problem (to get a soft pull increase). Did you want the opportunity to say no to an increase that didn't affect your credit score? Not being rude by the way, truly not understanding how it's a problem.

As I stated in my original post, I wanted to ask for more. I am not sure if this increase resets the 3-4 month clock on CLIs so that is what I am saying. I know there are people that have called in multiple times in the same week or month but as I said I prefer the online increases vs talking to reps.
