How Does Upgrade Card Affect Credit Score

I'm interested in applying for the upgrade card  (w/ preapproval) but I'm wondering how does it affect my credit score? I know its not a traditional card but a line of credit. Does that line of credit affect utilization? Does it have a positive impact on credit mix, if I only have credit cards?
