How To Get An Ally Invite

Sitting here watching the Tony Tiger Bowl and saw an ad from Ally bank, looked them up, and discovered all their cards are invite only. I'm not saying I want one of their cards, but I am curious as to how someone would get an invite?

Re: How To Get An Ally Invite

Having a bank account with them is one way.

I have 2 Ally cards.  I've had a spending account with them for years.  I think I got my first invite from them through a match on Experian, with a low 600s score.  The second one was a preapproval by email exactly 1 year after getting the first card.

They're okay cards, both no AF.  One is 3% cash back gas and groceries.  Both are sock drawered, but they served a purpose in my rebuild.

They don't allow CLI requests, which is annoying.

I got mine after they acquired Ollo, and then later on they sent me a pre-approval for another card that was 0% (including BT) for 18 months, so I took that one when it came in.  But as for current invitations, I have seen them pop up occasionally on CK.

Re: How To Get An Ally Invite

I remember getting an invite in the mail mixed in with the junk mail many years ago when they were still Ollo. I have never gotten an invite after Ally took over. I think I am seriously outside the idea of what their customer is.

Re: How To Get An Ally Invite

Ally showed up on my CreditKarma page the month after my BK13 was discharged (7/2023). I applied and was approved for 4K SL. I have PIF every month before due date and received one CLI of 100.00 in 18 months. The only category I use it for is the 3% at drugstores. It also gives you your Experian Fico bankcard 9 score.

Wonder if they will convert them all to Merrick Bank cards?
