I keep seeing this number come up, both in general and for a particular 0% interest card I'm interested in. My current score is 711. I'd really like to stop paying interest in $8,000 in debt I have on another card, but I don't want another hard inquiry on my report. Just wondering if I should I wait and see if I can move up another 10 points?

What company are you trying to go with and have you checked for pre-qualification?
The only way you are going to dodge a hard pull for something new is with a credit union which has Merit because they usually give decent limits that can accommodate
Sorry, I meant I want to avoid a hard pull with a rejected application.
I was considering Bank of America card for 0% interest. Could you point me to more data about "credit union which has Merit"?
711? How about the Slurpee Visa? ![]()
Sorry, I used to work for 7-11 Corp HQ. lol
Chase Slate is a good choice too if you can get in. What do all your scores look like? Inquiries? Baddies?
Stay away from the Slate as not really useable limits. I would look at a CU such as NASA FCU, PenFed or the likes.. Decent interest rates, although not sure about 0% BT, although PENFED promise does have 4.99% BT at 0 fee. BofA and Citi both have longer term BT cards... List continues. Just wouldnt count on a useable limit of being >8k on slate unless you have other donor chase cards that you can move limits from

Don't be bashing my card, man! lol. J/k. I can't get any other Chase cards so I like Slate.

Not bashing your card, but the 2k CL on your slate is probably around what OP would get it he applied which wouldn't cover his BT
.. Slate isnt known to be the most generous w/regards to CL's ![]()
