How long do NFCU BT take?

How long do NFCU balance transfers take typically to get and apply to lender?  It appears they don't ACH like most modern institutions such as PenFed and send a manual check as they ask for address and account and name of account etc.. Is this a correct assumption?  Few weeks top probably as got letter from NFCU yesterday saying processed in the regular mail with the account #'s but yet to see them apply to any of the accounts I BT'ed.  Thanks in advance.

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

Hi @CreditCuriosity

This is a stmt I found on their website. But im sure someone else will respond who has actual experience, which hopefully is shorter.

“Once you’ve completed the transfer, wait at least two weeks to make sure it was successful. While waiting, continue making payments on your old card to avoid any late fees or delinquency....”

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

I just did two BTs with NFCU.

Sent 12/27, received 12/31 by one lender.

Sent 1/2, received 1/7 by the other lender.

Still pretty zippy despite not being ACH.

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

Hey CC, I'm going to PM you some credit card numbers with the amounts I would like to transfer off of them. I'll let you know when the amounts disappear from the accounts. I think it would be a great way to see how long it takes.

Best regards,
Your part time doorman and grounds keeper.😁

P.S. It normally takes 3 to 5 days for my transfers to process with NFCU. 3 for electronic and 5 for the mailed checks.

@Saeren

Oh this is good to know. Nice to see it’s a few days vs two weeks.

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

It took roughly 10 days for my BT to post to AMEX from NFCU. It was mailed FYI.

FICO 8 (Feb 2018):EX- 519, TU- 530, EQ- 545
FICO 8 (Sept 2022):EX- 706, TU- 685, EQ- 684

Amex must like BofA better. Took two days from Amex to BofA.

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

Definitely better to be prepared to have it take longer than expect a few days and have some overlap but this was my first BT I have ever done and I was glad to see they both went through fine. Disco taking longer to post than Best Egg was surprising though.

Re: How long do NFCU BT take?

lol thanks all... I did two one was from PenFed to NFCU and one was from Lowes/Sync to NFCU as figured I would pay a whopping 35 interest and make sure i had no nasty retro interest on my lowes card in the 11 months at max ill take to pay them off.. Neither have taken yet, but from the sounds of it i should probably see it reflect tomorrow or friday.  Don't mind paying a tiny bit of interest to such a great instition such as NFCU as 1.99 is killing me i tell you Smiley Tongue.

@Gmood1 make sure you also include you CVC and expiration date and of course billing address so i can ensure I make sure the BT goes through correctly Smiley Happy
