@newmomnewme wrote:@coreyb80 At least it only took 2 years lol....I just want to hear about a 5k line just once.
It seems to be very rare now. I remember reading on here where someone was upgraded to the mastercard and awarded a $9K CL. Would be nice to see that!
TD Bank has been really really tight since Covid. Many of us with Target MC haven't seen any cli's when we were regularly bumped every 6 months. I haven't seen any conversion posts in months...I think until the Covid drama tapers off were going to see very little belt loosening by TD Bank...
August is the norm, but crickets. There was a wave when I got my conversion letter in January. Nothing since.
The posts on CLI have dried up. Some recent CLD posts though.
My most recent CLI was around Black Friday last year, an $800 bump to $3700. Nothing since...
$300 to $1900 in 3 years, id say you are in living room lol. You could be those stuck at $300 for years
Indeed! Count my blessings for sure. So happy to be out of that use it/pay it to use it again cycle. That thing was killing my utilization for a while if I didn't catch it just right at the end of the month.
Hang in there!
I have not had an increase since 2014. Current limit is $2800.
After many years of trying to get Mastercard conversion by paying early, charging large amounts (over $500), monthly update of my annual income, etc., I have received nothing.
My advice is to accept and use the Target Redcard for what it is, which is what you have now.
Target upgrades occur when and if Target decides to do them. Or not. You cannot do anything about it, so forget it.
I have other cards (like Citi DC for 2% on everything) to use outside of Target.
Good luck!!
On the bright side, many of you appear to have pretty nice limits on your store cards. I opened mine in 2002 and can't remember who took the account over in 2005, but when they did they converted mine to a Visa and dropped my credit line from $1300 to $800 and it stayed there for another 11 years (with another lender or two between them and TD Bank, who turned my Visa into a MasterCard). For my card's 14th birthday, I finally got my very first CLI in June 2016, and kept getting them every June and December until they stopped. My last CLI was June 2019, though. I'm satisfied with the limit, other than it ending in xx,300 instead of xx,000. LOL
They stopped them in June at least for me. CLIs were every 6 months prior but then again, I am getting to theoretical unconfirmed max of $15000.
Here's my history with the card:
Apr 2014 $500
Oct 2014 $1000
Aug 2016 $1400
Jun 2017 $4000 and MC upgrade
Dec 2017 $5000
Jun 2018 $7000
Dec 2018 $9000
Jun 2019 $11000
Dec 2019 $13000
